Workforce EducationProgram InformationAbout the Program of Workforce Education Program Context The Program is strengthened by its differences and solidified through its similarities. Because of the diversity of the American workplace, the Program is organized around occupational clusters identified as program areas serving undergraduate, graduate, and other clientele. These specialties allow for the development of technical, pedagogical, and professional expertise. The Program's vitality is enhanced by a supporting structure of mutual concerns. While diversity is important, the modern workplace is increasingly comprised of consolidated mental, technical, and behavioral skills. Among the current and emerging areas that unite the Program are special populations delivery systems (i.e., secondary, adult and postsecondary levels, and industry training), vocational-technical educational leadership, and an international emphasis. Faculty Context The faculty is committed to preparing and developing educators who actively anticipate the future. Human adaptation and advancement is based on learning that has resulted from critical and creative thinking and problem solving. Because the Program perceives an emerging world of continuous political, economic, social, and technical change, it serves to prepare and develop educators who welcome an adaptive way of life as learners and thinkers. |
