ProgramsUpcoming Lecture: Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking Training - This workshop takes an in-depth look at the Torrance Test for Creative Thinking as you learn how to administer, score and interpret the figural test through hands-on practice. Sample tests will be scored until proficiency is achieved in order to receive a scorer's certificate.
Georgia Future Problem Solving Program (FPSP) - As an extension program of the Torrance Center, the FPSP is designed to help students enlarge, enrich, and make more accurate their images of the future. Visiting Scholars Program - This program is designed to stimulate and support research by national and international scholars on creativity, giftedness, and futures education. In cooperation with the Department of Educational Psychology, assistance is given to scholars in terms of office space, campus orientation, and access to the Torrance Archives. Torrance Lecture Series - Each year, the Torrance Center invites a lecturer of national or international renown to The University of Georgia campus to discuss current creativity research and practices. Challenge is back! This enrichment program for elementary school students is held on selected Saturdays. A Summer Challenge will be held at the Shields-Ethridge Heritage Farm in Arcade, GA during the week of June 23-27, 2008. This day camp will be for rising 5th and 6th grade students. The focus will be on conducting historical research using primary sources. We will limit the number of students to 30 in order to provide a very high quality experience, and the cost for the week will be $300. T.I.P., the Talent Identification Program, is beginning at the University of Georgia this spring! Through a contract with Duke, The Torrance Center at the University of Georgia will begin holding Scholar Weekends for high performing students in grades 8-11.
