Elizabeth Connell, Ph.D., has joined the Torrance Center and is coordinating the Challenge and TIP programs.

Mark Runco, Ph.D., will join the Torrance Center as the E. Paul Torrance Professor in the fall, 2008.  He will do research and write grant proposals as well as teach one course per year.

Challenge is back!  This enrichment program for elementary school students is held on selected Saturdays.

A Summer Challenge will be held at the Shields-Ethridge Heritage Farm in Arcade, GA during the week of June 23-27, 2008. This day camp will be for rising 5th and 6th grade students. The focus will be on conducting historical research using primary sources. We will limit the number of students to 30 in order to provide a very high quality experience, and the cost for the week will be $300.

T.I.P., the Talent Identification Program, is beginning at the University of Georgia this spring!  Through a contract with Duke, The Torrance Center at the University of Georgia will begin holding Scholar Weekends for high performing students in grades 8-11. The first such weekend will be May 3-4, 2008.
