Learning Whale Morphology: A Naturalist's Journey

Humpback breachWe are excited to share the Learning Whale Morphology unit with you. It is composed of lessons, learning activities and assessments, which will help you to do the following:

  1. classify whales.
  2. distinguish whales from other mammals.
  3. describe different types of cetaceans.
  4. explain the function of baleen whale parts.

It is our hope that following the completion of the Whale Morphology unit that students will achieve these objectives, and also learn to think like scientists. We also hope to inspire interest in whales and their important place in our world.
