Feature manuscripts are major articles which make a new contribution to the field. They may be reports of quantitative, qualitative or mixed method empirical research, reviews of the literature in a specific field, data-supported reports of effective teaching strategies, or conceptual pieces.
Book reviews should review a recently published scholarly book relating specifically to the teaching of educational psychology, as broadly cast in our mission statement (see the TEP Home page). They should be no more than 10 manuscript pages long.
Commentaries are substantive, scholarly opinion pieces or responses to or extensions of previous articles.
Both book reviews and commentaries will typically be shorter than feature manuscripts, but there are no absolute page limits for any type of manuscript. Feature manuscripts will be reviewed by no less than three blind reviewers, while shorter articles may be reviewed by fewer reviewers.
We welcome manuscript submissions at any time. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically in either MSWord or as an RTF document (preferably in both formats) to tep@uga.edu, with the words "manuscript submission" in the subject line. Manuscripts CANNOT be accepted on paper or in other formats.
Manuscripts should follow the guidelines of fifth edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 2001). Please include the author’s name(s) and affiliations in the accompanying email only, and be sure to blind all references to the author(s) and their work within the body of the manuscript and reference list, as delineated in the APA Manual.
Authors will be notified of the receipt of their manuscripts within 7 business days of their arrival and can expect to receive the results of the review process within 2-3 months.
