Wellness at UGA

  • UGA Health Center - The University Health Center exists to advance the health of students and other members of the University community by providing: 
    primary health care, prevention focused services, and learning experiences which develop health knowledge and skills. Visit this site for more information.
  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) - Services offered include:
    Short-term individual therapy-An appointment with a therapist may be scheduled or you may be put on a waiting list if no prompt appointments are available
    Group therapy-Some groups require a visit with the facilitator prior to participating
    Psychological testing-Your therapist will make a recommendation as to what particular tests may be helpful; you will have the opportunity to review results with a therapist
    Couple therapy
    Medication evaluation 
    Workshops 
    Relaxation room

    Referral to other resources-including long-term or more intensive therapy in the community, other campus agencies/departments, or other UHC services
  • Ramsey Center - Stay in shape while at UGA!  The Ramsey center offers workout facilities, aerobics classes, personal trainers, three pools and much more.  Many of these features are even pre-paid in your student fees. 
  • Disability Services - Disability Services provides academic and support services to qualified students with disabilities to ensure equal access to all programs and activities at the University of Georgia. The professional staff members have expertise in the following areas: academic accommodations, psychosocial and medical aspects of disability, adaptive computer equipment, job modification, legal rights and responsibilities, sign language communication, architectural accessibility and program access.
  • The Center for Counseling and Personal Evaluation - Provides professional counseling services for a wide range of emotional, interpersonal, and educational concerns for anyone in the Athens community.  The fees are assessed on a sliding-scale basis.  Call them at 542-8503 for more information.  
  • UGA Career Center - The Career Center offers a range of career services, from deciding upon a major and career track to critiquing resumes to providing help in conducting the job search.  Students from all majors are welcome.
