Academic Advising

College of Education Student Services Office No Show Policy

A "no show" is a person who does not come to his/her advising appointment and does not call the College of Education Student Services Office to make other arrangements prior to the appointment.

Students who miss their appointments risk having to register well after their designated registration time or during late registration.

If you make an advising appointment and then fail to attend, you will be denying another student the opportunity to be seen at that time. If you do not attend your appointment and do not properly notify the COE Student Services Office, then you should contact us at 706-542-1717 to determine how to get advised. Students are allowed one no show appointment and may call to reschedule this appointment. A second no show appointment will result in students not being allowed to reschedule their appointment again, and students will be asked to come in during walk-in hours at the end of each semester.

Tips from the Advising Office:

  • Take special care to schedule an appointment that you will have no difficulty keeping.
  • Plan to be here about 10 minutes before your scheduled time. Remember buses may run slowly, and parking is rarely available.
  • Never make an appointment that conflicts with a class or is immediately before or after a class!

Please sign in at Room 122 Aderhold for your advising appointment (intended majors only), or contact your major department for the location of your advising meeting.
