Applying for Funding
The deadline for COE student organizations to apply for a 2013-2014 student activity fee allocation has passed. Funding requests were reviewed and allocations were made by a committee comprised of representatives from various COE student organizations.
Overview of Student Activity Fee Guidelines
Programs and services supported by the activity fee are student-centered with students as the primary participants or beneficiaries. These programs and services must be available to students regardless of race, gender, color, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or disability.
The following general guidelines must be followed:
- Student activity fee may not be used to fund charitable causes, recognition of awards and/or banquets or events purely social in nature.
- Organizations whose active membership includes non-university students shall receive student activity fees allocated only for student members.
- Student activity fees may be used to fund student travel. In such cases there are guidelines that determine allowances for meals, number of attendees, etc. If travel is allowable, no more than 10% of an activity fee allocation may be used for student travel.
- No student activity fees may be used to fund scholarships.
- Students who choose to waive their student activity fees are not eligible to participate in programs or events funded by the student activity fee. University policy prohibits a student from paying the student activity fee as a separate fee if they have opted to waive their fee package.
- Student activity fees may not be used to purchase personal items for members (T-shirts, books, gifts, etc.).
Additional activity fee guidelines can be found here. Please note that these lists are not exhaustive.
