CHANGING MAJORS

Students wanting to change into a major in the College of Education must first complete the Application for Change of School/Major form before scheduling an advising appointment. Forms are available in the COE Office of Student Services, Room 122 Aderhold Hall. Major changes are processed within 48 hours. Students may schedule an advising appointment on AdvisorTrac (advising.coe.uga.edu) after the 48 hour wait period. Students wanting to change into a major outside of the College of Education must complete a major change form in the college that offers the major. Go to the Bulletin (www.bulletin.uga.edu ) to view a complete list of UGA undergraduate majors.

NEW STUDENTS

Students who are new to the University of Georgia, First-Years and Transfers, must attend an Orientation session in order to be advised and cleared to register for classes. CURRENT STUDENTS

UGA students are required to meet with an academic advisor every semester. Students are cleared to register for the following semester only after meeting with an advisor.

GENERAL ADVISING INFORMATION

Open Advising For Fall Semester 2013

Open Advising is available prior to the beginning of each semester for students who did not get advised during the regular advising phase, and for students who have general questions about COE majors, class schedules, and courses.

Dates: August 12-16, 2013

Location: Room 122 Aderhold Hall

NOTE: Cut-off time for morning advising is 11:45 AM.

Academic Advising Fall 2013

Academic advising for Spring Semester 2014 begins on August 26, 2013 and continues through December 3, 2013. Students are advised and cleared to register for classes during the advising appointment. Walk-in-Wednesdays Fall 2013

Walk-in-Wednesdays are available for current UGA students who have general questions about COE majors, class schedules, and courses. Walk-in-Wednesdays do not take the place of regular advising appointments. Students will not be cleared to register for classes during Walk-in-Wednesdays. Students must schedule a regular advising appointment to be cleared to register for classes.
