Orientation and Advising - ACADEMIC ADVISING
CHANGING MAJORS
Students wanting to change into a major in the College of Education must first complete the Application for Change of School/Major form before scheduling an advising appointment. Forms are available in the COE Office of Student Services, Room 122 Aderhold Hall. Major changes are processed within 48 hours. Students may schedule an advising appointment on AdvisorTrac (advising.coe.uga.edu) after the 48 hour wait period.
Students wanting to change into a major outside of the College of Education must complete a major change form in the college that offers the major.
NEW STUDENTS
Students who are new to the University of Georgia, First-Years and Transfers, must attend an Orientation session in order to be advised and cleared to register for classes. CURRENT STUDENTS
UGA students are required to meet with an academic advisor every semester. Students are cleared to register for the following semester only after meeting with an advisor.

Walk-in Wednesdays – Spring Semester 2013
Walk-in-Wednesdays are available for students who have general questions about COE majors, class schedules, and courses. Walk-in-Wednesdays do not take the place of regular advising appointments. Students will not be cleared to register for classes during Walk-in-Wednesdays. Students must schedule a regular advising appointment to be cleared to register for classes.
Dates: January 23 to April 25, 2013
Location: Room 122 Aderhold Hall
Hours: 8:30am-12pm, and 1:30-4:00pm
Regular Semester Advising 2013
Regular advising for Summer Semester 2013 and Fall Semester 2013 begins on January 22, 2013 and continues through April 30, 2013. Students are advised and cleared to register for classes during the advising appointment. Open Advising – Summer and Fall Semesters 2013
Open Advising is available prior to the beginning of each semester for students who did not get advised during the regular advising phase, and for students who have general questions about COE majors, class schedules, and courses.
Dates: May 1 – 8, 2013

NOTE: Cut-off time for morning advising is 11:45 AM.
