SRG Home Training and Development Survey |
Meeting Minutes
October 10, 2002 Present: Rene' Hammond, Cindy Molloy, Julie Patton, Etta Roberts, Jackie Rosumny, Heidi Sartain, Sandy Smith, Cindy Williams and Brenda Davis Brenda Davis began the meeting with discussion regarding the possibility of combining faculty and staff awards. Rene' and Sandy have agreed to schedule a meeting with Dean Castenell for discussion of the awards and to receive input from him. The SRG discussed polling staff in the College for their opinion regarding combining the awards. The SRG representative would be responsible for distributing/receiving polls from their school. Committee Reports Staff Awards: Jacquee Rosumny requested that the nomination form be revised to a more simplified version. She also suggested College-wide voting which would include faculty and staff instead of a formed committee. She has agreed to contact other Colleges throughout campus to receive information on their award process. It was recommended that the Staff Awards committee meet and begin planning for the upcoming year. Safety Report: Sandy Smith spoke with Kirk Oliver about re-submitting the alarm request for River's Crossing. Staff Council: See attachment from Sandy Smith (USCR Report 10.4.02) Newsletter: Rene' suggested that the first newsletter of the year to be sent out by the end of October with a second holiday newsletter going out by mid-December. New Business: The School of Teacher Education currently has a vacant representative position (replacement for Joy Fulmer). Etta Roberts agreed to seek a replacement from STE. Sandy Smith distributed the changes that were made to the by-laws. It was decided by the SRG committee to review the changes and respond via email to either Sandy or Etta. Cindy Molloy suggested that a Service Committee was needed due to the many ideas/projects that SRG would like to be involved in. Heidi Sartain agreed to serve as chair. Jacquee Rosumny and Cindy Molloy will serve on the committee. Old Business: SRG will host a Toys for Tots drive as a community service project for the holidays. Representatives for each school will be responsible for setting up a drop-off site for their School. It was proposed that we enter a team into the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Walk in the Spring. Heidi is gathering more information on this idea. Jacquee Rosumny suggested the SRG hosting a Hat Day for cancer awareness. It was agreed upon by the SRG and will take place on Friday, October 25th. Jackie is creating flyers to be posted throughout the College. The Committee has agreed to re-take the SRG picture. A date/time will be scheduled. The next SRG Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 14th at 10:00 am with the location to be announced. Meeting was adjourned. |
