Meeting Minutes
November 14, 2002 Present: Betty Blum, Janice Cieslak, Rene' Hammond, Cindy Molloy, Jacquee Rosumny, Heidi Sartain, and Julie Sartor. Rene' Hammond began the meeting with updating the committee of the new Reading Education representative. Jennifer Guyton agreed to serve as this position. Committee Reports Staff Awards: Rene' and Sandy met with the Dean in regards to combining faculty and staff awards. He understands the division between the faculty and staff and is supportive of the decision reached by the SRG. The SRG voted to keep the staff awards separate from the faculty awards. Jacquee Rosumny updated us on the different processes that other colleges on campus use for their award ceremonies. We decided that all staff should have a vote. We also discussed having a website established for the nominees in regards to the voting. The staff awards committee will meet in January. Newsletter: A copy of the newsletter was passed around. It was suggested that we have more staff support. We would like to have a Christmas Newsletter out before the holidays. Safety Report: No Report Service: Relay for Life: Joy Fulmer from Reading Education has agreed to serve as the Captain for our Relay for Life team. It will be held May 17-18, 2002 at the South East Clarke Park. The Kickoff Celebration will be held on January 23rd at Oconee Civic Center. Toys for Tots: Drop-off boxes will be displayed on each floor in Aderhold, and one box in a centralized location at the Ramsey Center and Rivers Crossing. All toys should be new and unwrapped. New Business: Rene' Hammond and Sandy Smith spoke with the Dean on the restructuring of the College of Education and the impact that it would have on the staff. It was mentioned that their may be some changes in job responsibilities and possibly some physical moves. The Dean has agreed to meet with the COE staff Thursday, November 21 in room 409 Aderhold at 11:00 am. The SRG is asked to encourage all staff within their Schools to attend to this meeting. Old Business: The SRG has agreed to re-take the SRG picture. A date/time has not been scheduled. The next SRG meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 11th at 9:00 a.m. in the Staff Lounge in Aderhold Hall. This meeting will be our Holiday Party with a Pot Luck Breakfast. We will also have an ornament swap gift game ($5.00 limit per ornament). Meeting was adjourned. |
