Meeting Minutes
Room 122, River's Crossing Present: Stephanie Bales, Betty Blum, Becky Hendren, Pam LaSalle, Elizabeth Platt, Betty Prickett, Freita Strickland, Cindy Williams. 10:00 a.m. October minutes approved. Committee Reports: Newsletter: Stephanie reported on obtaining permission from staff members to feature them in the Staff Spotlight and a person to feature in the Guess Who? section in the next newsletter. A prize will be awarded to winner who correctly identifies the individual in the Guess Who? picture. Around first of December is the target date for the December issue. Also included in the December issue will be donated recipes, upcoming weddings, births, and other announcements in the College of Education. Safety: Sandy met with floor coordinators and gave out color coordinated floor plans to each safety assistant. Changes in floor plans are needed on 2nd floor of Aderhold. Sandy will send out flyers updating safety changes. Staff Awards/Social: Betty reported that the Fall social was a success and enjoyed by all this year. A Staff Awards committee meeting will be scheduled to begin planning of next year's awards ceremony and they will look over comment cards from last year's ceremony for suggested changes. The date set for 2002 awards ceremony will be announced in the December issue of the staff newsletter. T-Shirt: Betty reported that a t-shirt committee meeting will be held next week. One goal of the committee is to sell t-shirts in early December with the idea that people will buy them for Christmas presents. Carolyn Taylor chose a different T-shirt company to use for the next sale. T-shirt samples will be distributed to each building. Chair Report: Betty reminded the committee of course evaluation packets for Fall semester and to contact school office managers for bubble sheets. Betty will prepare a proposal to present to the Dean of placing one person in charge of typing evaluations comments for the College in order to lessen this time-consuming workload placed on staff. USCR: No report. Old Business: Pictures from the Fall faculty meeting held at the Classic Center this year are now online. New Business: There is a tentative fire drill set for the near future in Aderhold. The next SRG meeting will be held during lunch on December 13th in Aderhold. Meeting adjourned at 11:30a.m. |
