Meeting Minutes

February 12, 2003
G-10 Aderhold Hall

Present: Betty Blum, Janice Cieslak, Joy Fulmer, Jennifer Guyton, Cindy Molloy, Jacquee Rosumny, Heidi Sartain, Julie Sartor, Sandy Smith, Cindy Williams

Committee Reports:
Safety: Sandy is sending an email to the committee to begin dialogue regarding safety issues and the effect of reorganization on our current committee structure.

Staff Awards: Jacquee reported that she and Betty discussed their proposed changes and have agreed that the staff awards process should stand as it is for 2003. This is due to time constraints in making any changes. They will be meeting with Charles Connor to discuss the current staff awards structure and how it has worked up to this time. As Charles will be retiring next year, he has suggested having someone work with him this year to learn the process and be able to step into his role beginning next year.

Newsletter: The Winter Newsletter is on schedule and will be sent out to all COE staff by the end of February. There will be two staff "Spotlight" sections featuring Dee Palmer and Martha Williams. The committee thought it would be a good idea to have an update from the Toys for Tots Drive in the newsletter.

Staff Council: Sandy Smith distributed a handout with the Staff Council report/notes.

Service: Cindy Molloy handed out a report of discussions that were brought up at the service committee meeting.
Relay for Life: Joy Fulmer joined us and shared the fundraiser ideas that were brought to her attention. She also passed around sign-up sheets for the fundraiser events. Final details were made regarding the Valentine Social "Have A Heart". The first pizza sale was a great success and all pizza was sold. The committee has agreed to have another fundraiser in March called Pot O' Gold Soup Kitchen on Thursday, March 13th from 12-2 p.m. in the staff lounge. It was asked that we each bring a crock-pot of soup or chili. The charge will be $3.00. This event is open to all faculty, staff and students. Heidi Sartain has agreed to make a sign for the staff lounge to be reserved for this day. Also, discussed was a yard sale on Saturday, April 5th. The location has not been agreed upon at this time. It is encouraged that we start asking people for donations for this yard sale. We need to start looking for a storage place up until the time of the event. It was suggested, but not agreed upon that we sell other people/organizations a table so that they can sell their own items. The next Relay for Life team meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19th from 10-11 in room 580 Aderhold Hall.

The next SRG meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12th 10:00 - 11:00 am, G-10 Aderhold (ground floor).
