Meeting Minutes

April 8, 2004

Attendees: Clarice Thompson, Julie Range, Cindy Williams, Julie Sartor, Jeanine Meeler, Rene' Hammond, Sandy Smith, Etta Roberts, Betty Blum, Valerie Kilpatrick, Jacquee Rosumny

Meeting opened with discussion about amending the bylaws. Dean Castenell wants the bylaws completed by December, 2004.

  1. Julie Sartor has had the plaque made for the Staff Award for Excellence recipient.
  2. The Staff Awards Ceremony date was set for Friday, May 14, 2004, 3:00 - 4:30 pm. The Ceremony will be held in the Sunshine Room at River's Crossing.

New Business: Bill Stauff answered questions regarding the reorganization and process for staff applying for positions.

Sandy Smith proposed creating a "hotline" available to COE staff via email. Staff would be able to email questions/concerns anonymously. Bill Stauff (with the input of the Dean's Associates) would reply to the questions within 24 hours.

Bill shared an organizational chart for staff positions within the newly created Departments. He also emphasized that staff would not be without a job. He also said that there would be training offered for staff in the upcoming months.

The next SRG meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 10:00 am in room G-10 Aderhold.
