New Business:

Everyone in attendance volunteered for at least one of the standing committees:  Staff Awards, Safety and Newsletter.  Representatives are encouraged to explain to staff members in their departments that all staff are welcome to sit on the committees.

SRG meetings will be held on the second Thursday of each month and will vary between River’s Crossing, Ramsey Center and Aderhold.  Dean Castenell will visit next meeting to speak about rebuilding the SRG, opportunities for advancement and other topics.

The October meeting was moved up one week due to the Statewide Staff Council Conference at the Georgia Center from October 13-14.  The cost for the conference is $35, and scholarships are still available (applications can be found on the Staff Council website).  All COE staff are encouraged to attend.  More information can be found at the Georgia Center website:  http://www.gactr.uga.edu/conferences/2005/Oct/13/ssteam.phtml

The group brainstormed ideas for pulling the College together and moving it forward post-reorganization.  It was agreed that a Social Committee be formed again to help bring everyone in the College back together.  Other ideas generally focused on the clarification of COE policies.  Specifically, these included appointments for faculty, staff and graduate assistants, physical inventory, procurement cards and job classifications/titles.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 6 at 10:00 in room G-23 Aderhold.

Meeting was adjourned.
