Staff Representative Group Meeting Minutes – December 8, 2005

G23 Aderhold Hall

Present: Dean Castenell,Shea Ray, Julie Range, Mike Gorman, Marianne Roberts, Salli Park, Susan Christopher, Holly Coder, Barbara Galvond.

Old Business:

1. Minutes from last meeting were approved.

2. Standing committee reports:

Safety Committee: Split contents of old/existing safety manual into sub- committees and will hold meeting after break in early January.

Newsletter Committee: Completed fall/winter edition and will put information on SRG website. Committee will meet again in late January to begin planning spring newsletter.

Staff Awards Committee: Fliers describing the nomination process will be distributed after the break. Applications for nomination are due February 14th.

3. Special committee report:

Social Committee: No report

4. Report of Chair

The Staff Council upcoming newsletter will have a piece about the COE SRG.

There are still available seats on the University Council committees, especially the Transportation and Safety committee.

New Business:

Dean Castenell came to the meeting and asked if the group needed his assistance with anything. He mentioned that there should be a minimum 4% pay increase for next year. He also mentioned that because of rising energy costs, the University might start looking at the Colleges and Schools to help out. It could potentially cut into the COE’s end-of-year money.

Next meeting will be on January 19th at 10:00 a.m. in G23 Aderhold.
