OLD BUSINESS
- MinutesThe minutes from the December 10, 2008 meeting were reviewed and accepted.
- Standing Committee Reports
Staff Awards (Heather Bailey)
The Fireside Room was chosen as the place for the Staff Awards. It will be held April 17, 2009 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. The title will be "A Red Carpet Affair".
Each department was encouraged to nominate at least one person.
Communications (Annelie Klein)
Possible topics were discussed for the newsletter.
Bobbi suggested that communications committee have a meeting
Annelie will send email to ask other staff members for support for newsletter from
Suggestions for the newsletter included: information from Toys for Tots, the college food drive, diversity, and new staff orientation
Safety (Kay Bernales)
Kay suggested a monthly safety newsletter- It was later suggested that Kay submit information to Communications committee to include in their newsletter
- Special Committees
By-Laws Committee (Report given by Grace in Pat’s absence)
A copy of the bylaws were handed out with proposed changes highlighted. It will be sent out via email for SRG to vote on
Guidance (Bobbi Ray)
Bobbi sent D. Avin an email regarding survey but has not received a response. She will follow up with him.

NEW BUSINESS:
Jenny Penney Oliver joined our meeting to discuss a diversity initiative
- It was suggested that SRG form a committee and elect a committee chair to decide come up with ideas to give to Jenny Penney Oliver about how to pursue diversity awareness in the college. This committee will be called the Workshop Committee
- Bobbie Ray and Jenney Penney Oliver will contact T&D and the Dean to see what is being offered now and to discuss possibilities of what can be offered
