There is no price limit on bucket; it is up to the department to decide on price. Volunteers are needed to work the games at the 3/10 staff social for no longer than 30 minutes at a time. Freita will check with Ron Braxley regarding a sound system for the event. 4. Report of Chair Staff Council: Visitors from Athens Living Wage League are targeting the University to get reform in the number of temporary positions without benefits. The proposal was sent to the President for a $10 per hour wage with benefits or a $12.50 per hour wage without benefits. The proposal also states that UGA should have cost of living increases and staff that don’t receive a merit raise should get a letter stating why they didn’t receive one. The chancellor has shot down cost of living increases in the past and merit raises are given instead. A fund is being established for a UGA staff member who was injured recently. The new Associate VP for Human Resources is spearheading the effort. Shea will provide more information once it becomes available. COE SRG will be in the Staff Voice regarding staff awards.
New Business - CSD might have another election for their SRG representative. - Julie Range asked if the SRG will be involved in the Relay for Life. The SRG has put a team together in the past. The question came up as to whether to do that now and if enough people are interested. Shea will send an email to everyone to see how many people are interested. Holly Coder added that Jeanine Meeler was involved in the last one and may have information. - Barbara Galvond suggested the departments can volunteer to sponsor a monthly drop-in coffee break in the staff lounge between 2:00-4:00. A calendar will be put on the door but a few departments have indicated that they would like to participate: February: EPIT, March: Student Services, April: GSTEP, May: LEAP Next meeting will be on March 9th at 10:00 a.m. in G23 Aderhold. Meeting was adjourned.
