Initial Certification Track

SETWEB initial certification prepares you to teach students with disabilities in a consultative or co-teaching model. Some possible settings may include:

  • Co-teaching in a general education classroom with a general education teacher who is teacher of record for the content area;
  • Co-teaching study strategies and/or curriculum in a resource room with supervision from a teacher who is the teacher of record for that curriculum;
  • Co-teaching in a resource room/self contained classroom with another special education teacher who is teacher of record for the curriculum

The program of study prepares you to teach students with disabilities in a wide variety of settings. In order to become teacher of record for the actual curriculum content, you may need to take additional assessments as mandated by the GA Professional Standards Commission (PSC).
