To be fully considered for a Faculty Position Papers for the Southeastern Association for Science Teacher Education, please send the following information in this form to Dr. Michael Mueller before Wednesday, September 15 2011: mmueller@uga.edu
Please write papers in a Microsoft Word Office Document, no more than 10 pages double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font (references are not included in the paper length). Papers should address the conference theme of ecojustice, citizen science or youth activism in science education and will be judged accordingly.
Criteria for Judging the Faculty Position Paper;
- How well does the paper communicate a clear position?
- How relevant is the paper to the conference theme?
- How relevant is the paper to science education?
- Does the paper build a unique argument? (not just repeat the arguments of others in the field)
- Is the position supported by literature, personal experience or philosophical argument when necessary?Does the paper have potential impact in terms of fostering dialogue among science educators?
- Does the paper conform to guidelines with respect to page length, spacing and font?
- How well does the paper fully develop the position or perspective?
