Wendy Edwards´ Weekend Travels while on Study Abroad Ireland 2008: |
June 13-15: I went on a bus tour to see the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. (This was a day trip. See picture below) Otherwise stayed in Cork, and learned my way around.
June 20-22: I visted the Dingle peninsula. I was hoping to see the Blasket Islands, which I did, for a moment, before they disappeared into the mist. I saw many historical sites on a cab tour, including the Gallarus Oratory, a Christian site from the 5th century. (See picture of Blasket Islands and Gallarus Oratory)
June 27-29: I flew to Amsterdam for the weekend. I visited the Van Gogh Museum, and the Rijksmuseum, and Vondelpark. I saw the canals, and Dam square. (See picture below- Museumplein, and Vondelpark)
July 4-6: I flew to Dublin for the weekend. I saw Trinity College and Temple Bar. (See pictures below.)
July 11-13: This was my favorite weekend trip. I went to Bere Island, and stayed on the island, and visited Castletownberehaven. This was a magical place. The people, the ocean, the mountains... (See pictures below)
