Research interviews are the predominant method used in qualitative research-dev studies. This interactive workshop provides participants with a theoretically-informed guide to interview practice that will assist qualitative interviewers to develop as reflective research-devers and to design high quality research-dev projects. The workshop will address theoretical perspectives of the research-dev interview and how these inform the design of qualitative studies. Participants will engage in activities that encourage reflection concerning relationships between participants and interviewers, and implications for research-dev design; examine how interview data might be analyzed methodologically to inform research-dev design; and discuss strategies used by qualitative research-devers to demonstrate quality. This workshop is designed for faculty new to qualitative methods, as well as established research-devers who would like to improve knowledge and skills of qualitative interview methods.
Topics include:
- Theoretical perspectives of research-dev interviews
