Proposals & Grants

We are excited about your search for research funding and are here to help you develop successful applications.  If you plan to submit a research proposal for funding consideration, you must…

Notify Kim Wright, kawright@uga.edu, or Grace Thornton, gthorn@uga.edu) at the earliest possible date and provide the funding agency and funding announcement information. They will…

  • Determine if you are required to have clearance from UGA Corporate and Foundation Relations to submit and will seek clearance, if so (applies to private foundations and corporations, usually)
  • Review funder guidelines and discuss the agency submission process
  • Make arrangements for budget meetings and detail proposal components that will be required to be completed
  • Inform you of the dates that proposal components will need to be submitted to the Research Office for review
IMPORTANT All proposal components must be submitted to the COE Research Office no later than 10 business days prior to the due date so that an internal examination of all materials can be conducted. This allows the Research Office to meet the Office for Sponsored Programs (http://ovpr.uga.edu/osp/) requirement that proposals be submitted to their office 5 business days prior to the submission deadline to undergo a thorough review prior to submission.

Additional information on the grant proposal process from finding the right funding opportunity to writing, budgeting, and submitting your proposal as well as managing your award is available within the PowerPoint presentations below and on the Sponsored Programs links below.
