Early Career Faculty Grant Program (Cover page)
Early Career Faculty Grant Program resources in the amount of $5000 are available to support tenure-track assistant professors who are in their first five years at the University of Georgia COE in conducting research activities. The Early Career Faculty Grant Program will support activities that are consistent with establishing a track record of accomplishments including, but not limited to, initial studies that establish a line of research and activities to establish partnerships or service enterprises to develop a research agenda. The funds can be used for faculty salary, graduate assistant time, materials, and travel and must be detailed in the application budget. In addition to the $5000 award, $1,000 will be allocated to a senior faculty member of the applicant’s choosing to serve as a research mentor. It is expected that at the end of the funding period some product must result (e.g., manuscript submitted for publication, pilot data, grant proposal, plan for a service program, etc.). A plan leading to external funding must be presented as part of the application.
Funding for assistant professors is limited to one time through this program. Maximum of $6,000 / award. Up to five awards per year may be awarded.
Proposals Due: 2nd Friday of February

College of Education Faculty Research Leave Program (Cover Sheet)
A primary goal of the COE Research Office is to provide support to faculty in their continual and lifelong development as scholars. Thus, the College provides opportunities for faculty to engage in pursuits that enhance their scholarship, revitalize their creative energy, and inform them of new and innovative knowledge and practices with the ultimate goal to develop and maintain their scholarship. A faculty member may request one semester research leave to take advantage of scholarly opportunities to pursue research projects. This one semester leave is based on the assumption that the faculty member will remain in the Athens area during the COE research leave. If the research project requires absence from Athens, then the faculty must align with the University’s 1.12-1 Educational and Professional leave policy (http://provost.uga.edu/index.php/policies-procedures/academic/academic-affairs/1-faculty/112-leaves/ ).
