AP Calculus Learning Community This Learning Community is a team of A.P. Calculus teachers from Northeast Georgia RESA schools who work together to improve the teaching and learning of Calculus. Team members share successful lessons, but also test new ideas, methods, and materials to offer exemplary learning experiences to their students. By doing so, they gain a better understanding of mathematical content as well as improved pedagogy. They work collaboratively to develop effective strategies to support and motivate students to do their best, and also discuss review strategies to help students earn exemplary scores on College Board’s AP Calculus exam. They meet from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM at the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce in Watkinsville, GA. Please contact Sandy Blount for more information. The PRISM AP Calculus and AP Statistics Learning Communities joined facilitator Sandy Blount in sharing the activities that helped them establish their teams. This session was entitled Developing a Successful Learning Community for Mathematics. Click here for their handouts. Favorite Lessons from the PRISM AP Calculus Learning Community featured lessons by Pam Hooten, Joy Sapp, and Hamilton Hardison. Click here for their handouts.
