I am an Assistant Professor of Research, Evaluation, Measurement and Statistics (REMS) in the Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology Department. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Georgia’s REMS program in 2011.

My research focuses on psychometrics, specifically on diagnostic measurement using contemporary item response models called diagnostic classification models (DCMs). My research efforts seek to refine statistical methodology to enable assessment results to provide useful information about students’ complex knowledge structures, including concepts they understand as well as misconceptions they have.

I received a Masters of Education degree in Mathematics Education at the University of Georgia in 2007. My training in Math Education motivates much of my current research to integrate cognitive theories with psychometric methodology. To this end, I also collaborate on interdisciplinary assessment development projects to tailor DCMs for the measurement of multidimensional mathematical and statistical understandings.
