I am currently an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology. My research interests focus on (a) early screening, psychological assessment and treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders, (b) attitudes of peers and school professionals towards children with autism into inclusive educational settings, and (c) evidence-based practices for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. I am an Associate Editor for School Psychology Quarterly and an editorial board member for the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment and Psychological Assessment. I am a member of Divisions 16 (School Psychology), 33 (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities), 53 (Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology) and 54 (Society of Pediatric Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. I teach doctoral level seminars on autism spectrum disorders (EPSY 8120) pediatric psychology applied to school settings (EPSY 8150), intellectual assessment of children (EPSY 7100), and social-emotional assessment of children (EPSY 7200).

I require that my doctoral advisees ‘minor’ in autism spectrum disorders. As such, I require that my students: (a) take a three-course sequence in autism spectrum disorders, (b) complete a third-year practicum at either the Marcus Autism Center or Emory Autism Center (both located in Atlanta), (c) assist with autism spectrum disorder assessment referrals conducted within our program’s training clinic, and (d) conduct thesis and dissertation research within the area of autism spectrum disorders. I strongly recommend that my students complete internship training at a site focused on work with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
