Dr. ChanMin Kim is an Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology at the University of Georgia. Her primary interests are in the intersection of cognitive and non-cognitive aspects of teaching and learning, especially as they interact with technologies. Her research agenda involves improving learning in domains typically regarded as challenging or difficult such as mathematics and engineering. She focuses on facilitating learners’ emotion control, motivation and self-regulation throughout the implementation of a virtual change agent in online learning environments. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Ewha Woman’s University, Seoul, Korea, worked as a special education teacher, and received two prestigious national awards for the design and development of educational software for teaching mathematics to students with cognitive disabilities. Her experiences with educational software developed into a passion for technology integration and led her to the field of instructional technology. She studied educational media and technology at Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea and Boston University, Boston, MA, and earned Master’s degrees at both institutions. Her Ph.D. is in Instructional Systems from Florida State University.
