Safe and Welcoming Schools faculty are available for consulting, professional development, and technical assistance in gauging bullying and overall climate in schools. Our services range from one-time events to year-round support. We will work with you to develop a customized plan to best meet your goals.

Outreach and Service Programs

Examples of Safe and Welcoming Schools initiatives include:

  • Coordination of an annual Safe and Welcoming Schools conference
  • Collaboration with schools and community members to prevent bullying and mistreatment and foster positive school climate, such as:
  • Providing continuing education to raise awareness of bullying and how to prevent it
  • Partnering in the adoption of evidence-based practices related to improving school climate
  • Providing technical assistance, such as support with measuring the extent of bullying in schools and the community

  • Measuring school climate and bullying
  • Examining school policies and practices
  • Selecting bullying prevention curriculum and/or resources
  • Conducting bullying prevention activities
  • Demonstrating lessons in classrooms
  • Building positive family-school relationships
  • Facilitating faculty book studies or inquiry groups
