Outreach & Engagement - About the Office

The office of Outreach and Engagement was established fall 2009 under the direction of Dr. Ronald Cervero, Associate Dean for Outreach and Engagement.  An advisory team made up of faculty members, department heads, and a representative from the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach came together to develop an organizational plan for the Office.

Five functions of the Office:

  1. Provide the infrastructure to support outreach and engagement efforts in the College
  2. Offer outreach opportunities
  3. Support the mechanisms for engaging faculty, staff, students, with community
  4. Catalog and communicate the outreach and engagement activities conducted through the College
  5. Provide encouragement and support for outreach and engagement scholarship

The full version of the plan includes the strategies for implementing these functions.  The organizational chart for the Office provides the “big picture” of the various units and programs under the Office of Outreach and Engagement.
