About OIT |
Microsoft Office 2007Upgrade and PatchesMicrosoft Office 2007 is now available for early adopters. MsOffice 2007 is currently only available for Windows, has a significantly different user interface from the previous release (PC: MsOffice 2003, Mac: MsOffice 2004) and, in some instances, has compatibity limitations with previous versions. The standard version of MsOffice 2003 for Windows cannot open an MsOffice 2007 Word file. However, an upgrade to MsOffice 2003 will enable it to open MsOffice 2007 Word files. This upgrade is being automatically installed on PC computers that are maintained by OIT. If you wish, you may install the upgrade manually. Mac Office 2004 users must install the upgrade manually from Microsoft (note: this is a Beta version and not guaranteed by OIT). MsOffice 2007 user may save Word files in MsOffice 2003 format by following these instructions. If you wish to have OIT upgrade your PC from MsOffice 2003 to MsOffice 2007, please submit a request for upgrade through our Remedy ticketing system. MsOffice 2007 TrainingIt is recommended that users complete training before (or soon after) migrating to MsOffice 2007. The new version of Office implements an interface very different from all previous versions.
