OCA | Office of College Advancement

About Us…

The Office of College Advancement (OCA) is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating the College of Education’s communications, development, and alumni-relations programs to promote the College and its strategic priorities.

We focus on strengthening the College’s collective ability to engage current and prospective students, alumni, parents, donors, and friends of the College, both online and with traditional media. In addition, we work to build and strengthen relationships on the local and regional front, as well as for our alumni and campus communities.

The OCA is organized into three collaborative and flexible groups. Each group has special areas of focus and expertise:

    • Communications
    • Development
    • Alumni Relations

Communications

We support the teaching, research, and service missions of the College by providing external and internal communications through press outreach, publications, electronic media, and collaborations with other offices in the College and across the UGA campus. We are also a resource for news media seeking faculty experts for both breaking news stories and stories about education trends.

Development

We advance the goals, objectives, and priorities of the College by generating private financial support, building and stewarding relationships with donors, and communicating UGA’s strategic messages to various audiences.

Alumni Relations

We develop relationships with alumni, donors, and supporters to help provide partnerships and funding for scholarships and other vital programs that foster student success.

We host events that bring alumni to campus and campus to alumni across the nation.
