Counseling students receive NRPA marketing campaign award

A team of three University of Georgia counseling students — An-Taria Curry, Becca Baretheson and Rachel Sloan — has received the 2011 National Recreation and Park Association’s America’s Backyard Campaign Award.

Sudduth featured as an ‘Amazing Student’ on UGA.EDU

Chris Sudduth‘s diverse interests keep him busy and extend his college experience beyond the classroom.. Graduating from UGA in the spring of 2012 with a B.S. Ed. in exercise and sports science and a minor in cellular biology, Sudduth volunteers in the local community, is active in a pre-med organization and is deeply involved in research in the department of kinesiology. Sudduth is being featured this week as an “Amazing Student” on UGA’s home page.

Four UGA athletic training students and one graduate athletic trainer were among those who performed admirably to save the life of a Mississippi State University coach who suffered a heart attack May 12 at the SEC Track Meet at Spec Towns Track.

COE students create computer network for local clinic

In a shining example of service learning, a team of four students in a University of Georgia education class recently designed and implemented a wireless network system for the Athens Nurses Clinic (ANC) that now allows medical practitioners to share information about the clinic’s patients more rapidly and efficiently.
