Gross’ lecture on how race influences leisure activities reported in ABH

The fear of “acting white” may keep many black people away from activities they would like, and which could help them have better lives, according to University of Georgia College of Education researcher Bantu Gross, speaking on campus Wednesday, reported a story in the Feb 9 Athens Banner-Herald. Gross, of New Orleans, La., is a doctoral student in recreation and leisure studies.
