Juanita Johnson-Bailey, professor of adult education and director of Women’s Studies at UGA and co-authors of the book, The Handbook of Race and Adult Education, spoke at the inauguration of the school’s 13th president Judith Huntington. Johnson-Bailey and co-authors of The Handbook of Race and Adult Education, participated in a panel discussion titled, “Race and Adult Education: Engaging A Dialogue on Racism,” during February 22-23 inauguration of the college’s new president, Judith Huntington. Getting in better shape can make a healthy pregnant woman even healthier. And a new study indicates low to moderate intensity weight training can help. Patrick O’Connor, a University of Georgia exercise science researcher, saw it in a study of 32 women who took up weight training, reports the HHS HealthBeat, an audio production of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on May 10 titled, “Making Moms-To-Be Stronger.” The podcasts air on radio and posted on websites across the country.
