After more than 10 years of experience with charter schools around the country, research and experience have found that overall, compared to non-charter public schools, instruction in charter schools is conventional and the academic achievement of charter school students is no better than that of students in non-charter public schools, writes William G. Wraga, a professor in educational administration and policy, in a Letter to the Editor in the Feb. 13 issue of the Athens Banner-Herald.
