Several UGA College of Education faculty members and an alumna are featured in the March 2012 issue of Georgia Magazine. Ron Butchart, Gayle Andrews, Linda Campbell and Deryl Bailey are recognized for awards they recently received in the “Best in Show: Around the Arch” feature. COE alumna Inez Tenenbaum (BSEd ’72, MEd ’74), the chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission since being appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009, is featured in one of the issues top feature stories focusing on “Federal Dogs.”

Timothy Dixon (BSEd ’86), principal of Waycross Middle School, was named 2011 Georgia Middle School Principal of the Year. He was also one of three finalists for 2011 National Middle School Principal of the Year.

Hagin named Teacher of Year at Upson-Lee High

John Hagin (BSEd ’05), who holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education from UGA and teaches agriculture sciences to grades 9-12 at Upson-Lee High School, was recently named that school’s Teacher of the Year, reported an article in the Thomaston Times.
