Four COE graduates make ’40 Under 40′ Class of 2013
Four College of Education graduates were named to this year’s University of Georgia Alumni Association’s “40 Under 40″ class. They included:
Laurie Barron (BSED ’96), of Newnan, of Coweta County’s Smokey Road Middle School, was named the 2013 MetLife/NASSP National Middle Level Principal of the Year. Barron received her bachelor’s degree in English Education from UGA.
Erin Hames (BSED ’02), of Atlanta, is Deputy Chief of Staff for Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal. Hames earned a bachelor’s degree in social science education from UGA.
Shunta Jordan (BSFCS ’98, MED ’03), of Union City, is a teacher and debate coach at Pace Academy in the Buckhead community of Atlanta.
Logan Smalley (BSED ’06), of New York City, is coordinator of TED-Ed. Smalley earned his bachelor’s degree in special education from UGA.
