Teacher Workshop: Sentence-Writing Strategies
This two-day workshop will introduce teachers to the foundations of the Strategic Instruction Model® (SIM®) and will prepare them to implement research-based interventions to help students acquire strategies for writing and editing sentences for effective written communication. The Sentence Writing Strategy series, a two-part program that includes the Fundamentals and Proficiency levels, is targeted towards students in grades 4 through 12 who struggle with written expression. In addition to a writing strategy, students can be taught 14 sentence patterns with four types of sentences: • simple • compound • complex • compound-complex
