The conference will focus on how schools systems can use the system for blended and online learning of Common Core standards.

A one-day interactive conference designed to enhance participants’ understanding of Moodle, a free learning management system, and how school systems can use it for a variety of learning purposes, will be hosted by the University of Georgia College of Education on Friday, July 19 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.

The Southeast Moodle Mini Moot Learning Management System for K-12 Conference, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will focus on how schools systems can use the system for blended and online learning of Common Core standards, organizing a 1:1 initiative or flipping a classroom.

Area school administrators, curriculum directors, technology coordinators and teachers are encouraged to attend this conference to learn practical, personal perspectives on how to initiate, implement and maintain Moodle for a variety of purposes and audiences.

Session topics will include:

  • Introduction to Moodle
  • Installing, updating, and backing up
  • Site, category, and course organization
  • K-12 innovative uses
  • Professional development

Speakers for this conference include:

  • David Millians, Moodle Administrator and technical support specialist in the UGA Educational Technology Center, based in the College of Education;
  • Moodle PD providers
  • K-12 Moodle users

Registration cost for the conference is $125 which includes conference materials, two refreshment breaks, lunch and a parking pass. Registration deadline is July 5. The conference is sponsored by the UGA Educational Technology Center.
