University of Georgia College of Education doctoral graduate Jonathan Zerulik (Ph.D. ’12) will receive the Association of Student Conduct Administrators’ Dissertation of the Year Award.
Zerulik, who is now director of student conduct at Emory University, received his doctorate in college student affairs administration at UGA. Diane L. Cooper, professor and head of the department of counseling and human development services was his major professor.
Zerulik’s dissertation was titled “Examining the Relationship between Learning in the College Disciplinary Process, Locus of Control, and Readiness to Change.” The study examined the relationships between locus of control, readiness to change and the achievement of learning outcomes as a result of participation in a college disciplinary process. Zerulik collected data from undergraduate students at highly selective Emory and Vanderbilt universities.
ASCA is the only organization solely dedicated to the advancement of student conduct. Zerulik will receive his award in February.
