Activist Literacies: Inspire, Engage, Create, Transform
The presenters in this symposium including Gerald Campano, Rob Simon, Mary Yee, María Paula Ghiso, Lenny Sánchez, and David E. Low, presented an argument for “how practitioners are uniquely situated to investigate literacy theories—from New London (1996) to New Literacy Studies (Street, 1995)—as well as develop new understandings through activist orientations” (Simon, Campano, Broderick, & Pantoja, 2012).
