Educators from across Georgia can learn more about the potential benefits of strong school-university partnerships in a two-day workshop co-hosted by the University of Georgia College of Education and the Clarke County School District. The workshop will be held Jan. 28-29, 2013 at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.

The UGA College of Education and Clarke County Schools formed a partnership in 2009. The partnership has grown to include seven active Professional Development School District (PDSD) sites. College of Education courses are taught on-site at the schools and university faculty work with school-based teachers and administrators on a variety of initiatives.

In this workshop, representatives from both institutions will lead participant teams through PDSD school visits and working sessions on how to build sustainable partnerships, create a model that serves both institutions, and maximize the benefits of PDSs for all stakeholders. Participant teams are encouraged to include school district teachers and administrators and university teacher educators and administrators.

Online registration is available at: www.coe.uga.edu/events. Participants are encouraged to register early for the best rates. The workshop is $200 if registered on or before Dec. 15, 2012. After that, the cost is $225. The registration deadline is Jan.14, 2013.
