Three COE alumni receive Georgia Power New Teacher Grants

Three COE alumni — Amanda Peabody, Jason Huckaby and Aneeth Geetha — have received Georgia Power Company’s $1,000 New Teacher Assistance Grants.
Huckaby
Peabody (BSEd ’12) began teaching architecture and engineering at Ola High School in Henry County this fall.
Huckaby (MEd ’12, BSEd ’11) teaches mathematics at North Oconee High School.
Geetha
Geetha (MAT ’12, middle school education; BBA Management ’09), teaches 8th grade at Westside Middle School in Winder.
The three were selected among Georgia’s 44 best and brightest new teachers by Georgia Power and will receive the company’s $1,000 new teacher assistance grant.
