Four finalists for the position of dean of the College of Education at the University of Georgia will visit campus in October to meet with members of the university community.

A search committee, chaired by Daniel Nadenicek, dean of UGA’s College of Environment and Design, conducted a national search to identify the finalists. The committee was assisted by the UGA Search Group in Human Resources.

Each finalist will make a public presentation on the topic of  “Where will the University of Georgia’s College of Education be after 5 years of your leadership?” at 9:15 a.m. in Room G5 of Aderhold Hall. The finalists and dates of their presentation are:

  Oct. 11: Bernard Oliver, program coordinator of education leadership and policy studies and professor, School of Human Development and Organizational Studies, University of Florida

• Oct. 15: Ronald M. Cervero, associate dean for outreach and engagement, co-director of the Institute for Evidence-Based Health Professions Education and professor in UGA’s College of Education

• 

  Lapiner

  

  Kennedy

  Oct. 17: Robert S. Lapiner, associate vice chancellor for global continuing education and professor in New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies

• Oct. 22: Craig H. Kennedy, senior associate dean and associate dean for research in the Peabody College and professor in the department of special education, Vanderbilt University; also, professor in the department of pediatrics, Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The presentations will be streamed live to the following locations:

• Ramsey Center, room 215 (except Oct. 17)
