Four dean finalists to visit college in October

Four finalists for the position of dean of the College of Education at the University of Georgia will visit campus in October to meet with members of the university community.
A search committee, chaired by Daniel Nadenicek, dean of UGA’s College of Environment and Design, conducted a national search to identify the finalists. The committee was assisted by the UGA Search Group in Human Resources.
Each finalist will make a public presentation on the topic of “Where will the University of Georgia’s College of Education be after 5 years of your leadership?” at 9:15 a.m. in Room G5 of Aderhold Hall. The finalists and dates of their presentation are:

Oct. 11: Bernard Oliver, program coordinator of education leadership and policy studies and professor, School of Human Development and Organizational Studies, University of Florida
- Oct. 15: Ronald M. Cervero, associate dean for outreach and engagement, co-director of the Institute for Evidence-Based Health Professions Education and professor in UGA’s College of Education

Oct. 17: Robert S. Lapiner, associate vice chancellor for global continuing education and professor in New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies
- Oct. 22: Craig H. Kennedy, senior associate dean and associate dean for research in the Peabody College and professor in the department of special education, Vanderbilt University; also, professor in the department of pediatrics, Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The presentations will be streamed live to the following locations:

- Gwinnett Campus, Intellicenter Building, Room 147
- Ramsey Center, room 215 (except Oct. 17)
