Staff members and students from the University of Georgia’s Speech and Hearing Clinic fit North Oconee High School band members last week with special ear plugs that will dampen the sound volume to protect their hearing without interfering with their ability to hear directions and tone, reported an August 15 story in The Oconee Enterprise.
Holly Kaplan, audiologist and associate clinical professor at clinic which is based in the UGA College of Education led the service project. ETY ear plugs were bought by band boosters.
