Smagorinsky: A century later, teaching well is still hard work

Peter Smagorinsky, UGA Distinguished Research Professor of language and literacy education, writes in an August 5 op/ed article on Athens Patch that that the public’s dim view of teachers was cited as a problem a century ago, and that even under vastly more favorable conditions than teachers face today, teaching well is still backbreaking work.
