The University of Georgia’s Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Education and Human Development will present the Structural Equation Modeling Workshop that will introduce the basics of model estimation and enhance the use of the LISREL computer package from May 15-18 at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center.
The Structural Equation Modeling Workshop will provide a foundation in structural equation modeling by introducing participants to the basics of model estimation, evaluation of model fit and model interpretation for basic structural equation models. The workshop will cover path models, confirmatory factor analysis models and full structural models. Participants will also be instructed how to use the LISREL computer package, also known as linear structural relations computer software. Using LISREL, the participants will conduct analyses and if time permits, analyze their own data.
Instruction will consist of lectures and hands-on activities by Deborah Bandalos. Bandalos is a professor and director of the assessment and measurement doctoral program at James Madison University. Her research includes structural equation modeling, scale development techniques, reliability and validity studies, and educational accountability and assessment systems.
In 2011, Bandalos was elected as Council Representative for Division 5 of the American Psychological Association. In the same year, she was also appointed to the Examination Committee of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards, which are licensed to serve in the U.S. and Canada.
Bandalos is the associate editor of the Structural Equation Modeling: A Multidisciplinary Journal, and is currently preparing to publish a book titled, Measurement Theory and Applications for the Social Sciences.
Registration ends May 1 and costs $1,200 per participant. Each participant will receive workshop materials, refreshment breaks, lunch and parking passes for each day of the workshop.
