“UGA alumna aims to rebuild trust as No. 2 boss of Atlanta Public Schools,“ reads a headline on a November 27 story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on Karen Waldon (BSEd ’80). Waldon, who received her bachelor’s in speech education from UGA, was hired in September 2011 as the deputy superintendent for curriculum and instruction for Atlanta Public Schools.
