Two COE graduates — Andy Plemmons and Lauren O’Prey — are quoted in a front page feature story in the March 4 Athens Banner-Herald about the Barrow Elementary School Media Center, recently named an “exemplary media center” by the state Department of Education. Plemmons (BSEd 01, MEd 04, EdS 09) worked with classroom teachers to help children find the information and images they needed, as well as the software they used to put their media savvy presentations together. Fifth-grade teacher Lauren O’Prey (BSEd 08, MEd 10) said the power point projects helped her students learn more deeply about history.
